Todays was my 20th show in Edinburgh and boy was it a doozy! I had a producer, a reviewer and a colleague I really respect in the audience today. I hadn’t had great sleep because I’d had some English Breakfast tea with dinner the night before and apparently I’m sensitive to caffeine now. I slept but not that deeply. Add on to that the washer and dryer is in the bedroom and I was attempting to dry some towels all night, lol. The drying was stopping then starting intermittently all night. Typing that out it sounds crazy. Like, why was I doing that?
I woke up early too and went to the sauna then yoga. Not perfect conditions but I wasn’t as tired as I could’ve been. And yes the towels finally dried. Anyway, as soon as the show started it felt like the audience was not very into it. Let me say, the size of my audience was fantastic. I thought it would be a small crowd because the numbers had been in single digits for a few days and then boom, I ended up having 19 people! When I start the show I walk from behind a curtain and it’s always a big reveal for…
