Performer’s Log — Stardate 08192025.01

Performance 18 of 23

I started the day a bit more focused on self care. I took a yoga class which I haven’t done in 5 days. That sounds more dramatic than it really is. I don’t usually go to yoga on Saturday and Sunday so I actually just missed 2 of my regular yoga days. I wasn’t able to make it to the sauna today but I can’t do everything every day. I go to the same yoga studio in Brooklyn and take classes from the same four or five people so the moves are pretty consistent. Coming here and practicing in Edinburgh is so different. Even the words used to describe the poses are different. (Not the Sanskrit words of course, those don’t change but maybe instead of using the colloquial term they’ll use the Sanskrit or they’ll have a different colloquial word.)

The flow of things is different. At my studio in Brooklyn I can kind of guess what is going to come next because I know what is usually done but here it’s been a surprise. And it’s cool to see how I compare to other yogis. Per the usual I’m average. In Brooklyn I practice hot yoga so the room is, well, hotter. Cold…
